That's what big sisters are for!

Of course it's been a long time since I posted again. Been super busy around here purging through outgrown spring clothes and prepping the discards for a kids consignment sale. It's a ton of work, but it's worth it if you can bring home a pretty decent check. And the closets get cleaned out at the same time! We had a super fun Valentine's weekend. We had a date night with some of our closest friends and then spent the next day in Fayetteville with my family. Sunday the Kirby clan headed to our house for the afternoon. It was busy, but we had a great time. Since I have been consumed with this kid's sale business, Nathan has been on his own to explore more lately. And let me tell you, he is into everything! I have to be careful to close doors to rooms and make sure that every little thing is picked up or into the mouth it goes! Here's a few shots of Avery being a great entertaining big sister by introducing Nathan to the art of playing with a strainer.

I love....Sleep!

2. That's how you know that you have reached full adulthood. I officially love sleep and never feel like I quite get enough. And since I have been up since VERY EARLY this morning, it's now time for me to catch up on a few z's.

By the way, I do NOT love groundhogs that see their shadow and predict 6 more weeks of winter just when I caught my first hint of spring fever after our ice storm last week. Ugh. Bring on the flip-flops and t-shirts, we are ready for spring!

I Love....Football!

(This kicks off my 28 days of things I love for February. We'll see if I actually make it through all 28 days....)

Day One - In honor of Super Bowl Sunday, I love watching football with Marty. It starts in September with the kickoff of college football, which ushers in the season of school, chili, cool mornings and the excitement of the upcoming holiday season. I love sitting next to Marty with a good book while he watches games on Saturday. I mostly pay attention to my book or magazine, until the game starts to get really good. Also, I am blessed that Marty is not one of those guys who carries the win or loss of his team with him for long. When the game is over, it's done, no matter who won or lost. It makes it more fun when a bad mood doesn't linger and ruin the rest of the day. Pro football, is not really my thing either, but I love it when Marty watches on Sundays which means he always falls asleep and takes a nap. I will gently pry the remote from his hand and put on something more tv worthy like...Gilmore Girls. Anyway, I love the time spent together and just relaxing on the couch next to my best friend. Here's to a great super bowl game! Better luck next time Cardinals!
