Well today is a pivotal day. This is the day that will determine how my Saturdays progress for the following 2 months. It is the first day the Arkansas Razorbacks play their first SEC game. Yep, we face Alabama at 11:30. So, after the soccer games this morning, we will begin our Saturday game day ritual. Chili or hot dogs, kids with a movie and Marty and I on the couch. Of course I usally have a magazine too because I must be multi-tasking at all time. So here's the deal - if it's a blowout in the first 20 minutes, then I suddenly have nothing but free Saturdays for the next two months! We might take a short weekend trip or go to Fayetteville or even do things around the house. But if we somehow play decent or even come close to winning, then I might as well kiss Satudays goodbye! All kidding aside, I love Razorback football. Mostly because it brings in fall and I love spending the time with Marty. So here's wishing the Razorbacks good luck. GO HOGS GO!!!

Pinkalicious!
Avery's favorite book of all time is Pinkalicious! It is about a little girl who loves the color pink, but eats too many pink cupcakes and turns pink. She goes to the dr. and then has to eat only green things to turn back to her normal color. Since Avery is a pink kind of girl, this quickly became her favorite book. Today I surprised Avery and told her we were making pink cupcakes. She had the best time and even got her book to pose for some pictures. It's times like these that I love about staying home. Avery, you are pinkalicious to me and I love our days together!

From two to three...it was all a blur!
If you look back at a post about a month ago, you will recall that I had intended to post some two month old pics of Nathan and blog about all of the wonderful things he was doing at two months. Well, a day or two turned into a week or two and yes, before I knew it, month two is OVER!!!! My little man is going to be 3 months old tomorrow and I never even took his 2 month picture. I said this was not going to happen with #3, you know the saying, (I don't quite remember it), but something like "the road to (somewhere I can't remember) is paved with good intentions". So today, one day before he officially is 3 months, I will post about all of the wonderful things he has done at two AND three months.
He smiles.
He coos. He LOVES his mama! No, seriously. His eyes will literally light up when I am in the room or he hears my voice. I am sure that I will pay for this dearly when he is 9 months old and going through separation anxiety, but for now I am LOVING it! I am quite proud of the fact that I am still nursing at 3 months and yet I am relaxed enough to allow the occasional bottle of formula so that I can have a break too. He is sleeping through the night from about 10:30 to 5:30. No complaints there! He had his 2 month checkup where he passed iwth flying colors. He weighed 10 lbs, 4 oz. and was 25 inches long. 25th percentile for weight and (get ready) 95th percentile for height. Hmmm, sounds like another Nathan I know!
He has been spending a lot of time in his car seat while I run the girls everywhere, but I got this fancy dancy mirror (http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=900003&e=detailimgview&pid=41727&num=1) that tricks my conscience into thinking this somehow stimulates his development. It even has a remote control so that I can operate it without taking my eyes of the road. Because with three kids in the car, I NEVER tak e my eyes off the road! :)
He has been through 6 states on two road trips: one to Destin, FL in July and one to St. Louis for Labor Day. Of course, he did FANTASTIC on both trips because he is my son, and he is a great baby! He has also discovered his toys. He loves his little play mat and his bouncy seat.He can spend an hour or two in either one. (He has not yet realized these are my tools of distraction so that I can do important stuff like update my blog!) He loves his big sisters and has learned how to pull their hair. Right now they think it's pretty funny and cute and actually encourage this behavior. Ha! Wait until he can chase them down and pull hair!
OK, saved my two favorites for last: 1. This week he has found his feet. I love to see babies play with their feet! Especially when they just play with their bare feet while they coo and look at their mamas. Nothing better than that! 2. Hearing his little baby giggle. I can (and do!) spend hours trying to get him to laugh at me. Seriously. My heart just melts at his giggle. It even sounds like a boy giggle. Haven't video taped it yet, but that is next on the list!
Ok, thanks for indulging my bragging time. I keep reminding myself that the point of this blog was first envisioned to be a virtual scrapbook of all that was going on with the kids. I leave with one last picture - his "official" 3 month puppy dog picture. Not so great, but this is that awkward stage for pictures. There are only so many laying down photos you can take before it gets old. It will get more fun again when he can sit up. Maybe by month 4 we can put him in the bumbo seat. Stay tuned!
